Daylight is divided into eight, and one of those eighths is Rahu kaal. Which eighth is fixed for each weekday, but when it falls depends entirely on your sunrise.

Sunrise to sunset is divided into eight equal parts and one of them is Rahu kaal. The part number is fixed for each weekday; the clock time is not, and it moves through the year with your sunrise.
Monday takes the second part, Saturday the third, Friday the fourth, Wednesday the fifth, Thursday the sixth, Tuesday the seventh and Sunday the eighth. The sequence follows the planetary hours. Their order is different from the order of the days.
The first eighth of daylight after sunrise belongs to no weekday. Look down the table and part 1 is empty. That period is traditionally the best part of the morning, which is why it is left out.
Rahu Kaal (also called Rahu Kalam) is an inauspicious time period ruled by the shadow planet Rahu that occurs every day. It lasts approximately 1.5 hours (one-eighth of the daytime). Starting any new or important activity during Rahu Kaal is considered unfavorable in Vedic astrology. The timing varies based on sunrise and sunset at your location.
The daytime (sunrise to sunset) is divided into 8 equal parts. Each segment is assigned to a planet. The Rahu Kaal period is the segment assigned to Rahu, which changes each day of the week: Monday (7:30-9:00 approx), Saturday (9:00-10:30), Friday (10:30-12:00), Wednesday (12:00-1:30), Thursday (1:30-3:00), Tuesday (3:00-4:30), Sunday (4:30-6:00). Exact times depend on local sunrise and sunset.
Avoid starting new ventures, signing contracts, performing ceremonies, beginning travel, or making important purchases during Rahu Kaal. However, ongoing activities can continue. Worship of Goddess Durga or Lord Shiva during Rahu Kaal is considered to nullify its negative effects. Routine daily activities are generally not affected.
