Guru gochar 2026: the dates, and why this stay is short
Guru's move into Singh on 31 October is the first of two stays in that rashi, and the shorter one. It goes only 2.8 degrees into Singh, turns back on 13 December, and returns to Kark, the rashi of its exaltation, on 25 January. It comes back to Singh on 26 June 2027 at 5:19 AM for a full 153 days, until 26 November 2027 at 6:45 PM.

So read these 86 days as a preview. Whatever Guru stirs for your rashi now, it stirs again for longer from 26 June 2027, and in between, from 25 January, your earlier house comes back.
Singh is ruled by Surya (the Sun), a friend of Guru, so Guru is in a friendly rashi here: comfortable, but not as strong as in Kark, where it was exalted. Guru is the graha of wisdom, teachers, children, dharma and growth, and where it moves from your Moon sign is where those things open up or ask for patience.
Why some sites say Jupiter entered Leo in June 2026
If you have read that Jupiter entered Leo on 30 June 2026, that is the Western (tropical) date, not the Vedic one. The tropical zodiac counts its rashis from the spring equinox; Vedic astrology counts them from the stars. On 31 October 2026 the two zodiacs are 24.2 degrees apart, and Guru takes about 4.0 months to cover that gap, which is why the two dates are four months apart.
Every reading in this article, and every gochar page on our site, uses the sidereal (Lahiri) zodiac that Indian panchangs and kundlis use. If your kundli was made in India, 31 October is your date.
Who feels this stay most
Kumbh, Tula and Kark Moons have the cleanest run. For each of them Guru is in a good house for all 86 days, and no other graha blocks it. Mesh and Dhanu also get a good house, though another graha blocks it for part of the stay. Singh Moons carry Guru, Mangal and Ketu over their own rashi for three weeks.
Guru also looks at three rashis from where it sits, the 5th, 7th and 9th rashis counted from Singh: Dhanu, Kumbh and Mesh. The texts hold that this look, its drishti, blesses whatever it falls on, so those three Moons get both a good house and Guru's look.
Kumbh (Aquarius) gets the most. Guru moves from its 6th house (work, health and rivals) to its 7th house (marriage and partnership), and from Singh it also casts its full 7th drishti straight onto the Kumbh Moon. No graha blocks it at any point.
Tula (Libra) and Kark (Cancer) have a clear 86 days. For Tula, Guru moves from the 10th house (career) to the 11th house (gains); for Kark, from the 1st house, over its own rashi, to the 2nd house (money and family). Neither is blocked.
Mesh (Aries) has a good house, but mostly blocked. Guru enters its 5th house (children, studies and romance), and casts its 9th drishti on the Mesh Moon. But Phaladeepika (26.7) says Guru's good result in the 5th house holds only while no other graha is in the 4th house from the Moon. Mangal is in Kark, the 4th house from Mesh, until 12 November, and Ketu moves into Kark on 5 December. That blocks the good result on 63 of the 86 days; the clear stretch is 13 November to 5 December, 23 days.
Dhanu (Sagittarius) is blocked for 17 days. Guru, Dhanu's own lord, moves from its 8th house (sudden change) to its 9th house (luck and dharma), and casts its 5th drishti on the Dhanu Moon. Shukra (Venus) in Kanya, the 10th house from Dhanu, blocks it from 6 to 22 November; the other 69 days are clear.
Singh (Leo) has Guru over its own rashi. From 13 November to 5 December, Mangal and Ketu sit in Singh too, so three grahas are over the Singh Moon for those 23 days. The Singh section below says how Phaladeepika reads it.
Guru in Singh for each rashi
Five rashis move into one of Guru's good houses for these 86 days and five move out of one; for Vrishabh and Singh it stays in a hard house. Everything here counts from your Moon rashi, the rashi the Moon was in when you were born, not from your lagna.
How the houses are counted. Your Moon rashi is your 1st house, the next rashi is your 2nd house, and so on round all twelve. For a Mesh Moon, Singh is the 5th rashi, so Guru in Singh is "in your 5th house". Each house stands for one part of life, and Phaladeepika counts five of them good for Guru:

Mesh (Aries)
Guru moves from your 4th house (home and mother) into your 5th house (children, studies and romance), and also looks straight at your Moon rashi with its 9th drishti. It is the right season for a child's admission, a course or a talk with a senior who can help, but plan it for 13 November to 5 December. Before and after those dates, Mangal and then Ketu sit in Kark, your 4th house, and block the 5th house's good result.
Vrishabh (Taurus)
Guru goes from your 3rd house (effort and courage) to your 4th house (home and mother); both are hard houses for it. Give property papers and elders' matters patience rather than a push until 25 January, when Guru goes back to your 3rd house.
Mithun (Gemini)
Guru leaves your 2nd house (money and family), where it has been good for you since 2 June, for your 3rd house (effort and courage). It returns to your 2nd house on 25 January and stays until 26 June 2027, so money matters you could not close before 31 October can wait for that return.
Kark (Cancer)
Guru moves from your 1st house, over your own rashi, to your 2nd house (money, family and speech), and nothing blocks it for all 86 days. It is a good time to settle family money, save, and speak up where your word carries weight. On 25 January Guru returns to your 1st house.
Singh (Leo)
Guru moves from your 12th house (expenses and faraway places) to your 1st house, over your own rashi. Phaladeepika reads Guru over the Moon rashi as a time for care with spending and moves, not one for gains. From 13 November to 5 December, Mangal and Ketu are in Singh too. Kanya (Virgo)
Guru leaves your 11th house (gains) for your 12th house (expenses and faraway places), so gains may slow and spending rise for these weeks. On 25 January Guru returns to your 11th house and stays until 26 June 2027.
Tula (Libra)
Guru moves from your 10th house (career) to your 11th house (gains and honour), and nothing blocks it for all 86 days. It is a good stretch for income, recognition and wishes taking shape. From 25 January Guru is back in your 10th house, and the 11th house returns from 26 June 2027.
Vrishchik (Scorpio)
Guru leaves your 9th house (luck and dharma) for your 10th house (career), which is harder for it. At work, finish what is started rather than reaching for a new role until 25 January, when Guru returns to your 9th house.
Dhanu (Sagittarius)
Guru, your own rashi's lord, moves from your 8th house (sudden change) to your 9th house (luck and dharma), and looks at your Moon rashi with its 5th drishti. Shukra in Kanya, your 10th house, blocks it from 6 to 22 November; the other 69 days are clear. From 16 December to 14 January Surya is in Dhanu too, the month of Kharmas, under the same look of Guru. Pilgrimage, a teacher's guidance and long-pending luck suit this stretch, and the Kharmas month suits prayer more than a wedding.
Makar (Capricorn)
Guru leaves your 7th house (marriage and partnership) for your 8th house (sudden change). Until it returns to your 7th house on 25 January, avoid risky money decisions and long, tiring journeys.
Kumbh (Aquarius)
Guru moves from your 6th house (work, health and rivals) to your 7th house (marriage and partnership), and casts its full 7th drishti on your Moon rashi. Nothing blocks it for all 86 days. Rahu sits on your Moon rashi until 5 December, under Guru's look, and then moves to Makar. Of all twelve rashis, yours is the best placed for these weeks, and it is a good time for a rishta, a partnership or mending one.
Meen (Pisces)
Guru, your rashi's lord, moves from your 5th house (children, studies and romance) to your 6th house (work, health and rivals). With Shani also over your Moon rashi, look after your health and avoid fresh disputes. On 25 January Guru returns to your 5th house until 26 June 2027.
The dates inside the 86 days
Shukra, Mangal, Budh, Surya, Rahu and Ketu all change rashi during these 86 days, and three of those moves decide whose good house is blocked. Shukra blocks Dhanu from 6 to 22 November, Mangal leaves Mesh's 4th house (home) on 12 November, and Ketu enters it on 5 December. Guru's own turn on 13 December and its return on 25 January frame the rest.

What to do while Guru is in Singh
If Guru is in a hard house from your Moon (Vrishabh, Mithun, Singh, Kanya, Vrishchik, Makar or Meen), these simple upay strengthen it, and they suit the good rashis too.
- Mantra: "Om Gurave Namah" 108 times on Thursday at sunrise, or the beej mantra "Om Graam Greem Graum Sah Gurave Namah". Guru is the teacher among the grahas, and the mantra is a way of asking for its wisdom and patience in the house it is passing.
- Thursday: a fast with yellow foods (banana, chana dal, turmeric rice), or simply a Thursday kept light, honours Guru on its own day.
- Daan: chana dal, turmeric or yellow cloth on Thursday, to a temple or someone in need. Giving the things Guru rules is the traditional way to soften its hard houses.
For what to begin: Kumbh, Tula and Kark have a clear run for all 86 days; Dhanu has it except 6 to 22 November; Mesh has it from 13 November to 5 December. A wedding or griha pravesh can go ahead while Guru is vakri from 13 December. What rules them out is Guru's asta, when it is too close to the Sun to be seen, from 17 August to 14 September 2027.
