Mangal, Kaal Sarp and Sade Sati — each a defined position rather than a forecast. With the cancellations, which the pages selling remedies tend to skip.
A dosha is a named planetary position with a defined rule. Mangal dosha is Mars in one of six houses. Kaal Sarp is all seven planets on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis. Sade Sati is Saturn transiting the 12th, 1st and 2nd from your natal Moon. Each is a yes-or-no fact about a chart, and each can be checked.
What a dosha is not is a forecast. These pages give the rule, the cancellations, and — for Sade Sati — the actual dates. They do not tell you what will happen, and these pages do not prescribe a remedy. That is a deliberate limit and it is worth being exact about its edge: the calculators and the written reports this site sells do offer traditional remedies, because that is what somebody buying a report is asking for. What is ruled out here is describing a calamity and then pricing the cure, which is most of what the search results for these words are.
Every one of these has conditions under which the classical texts say it does not apply — the backend behind this site implements sixteen separate cancellation rules for Mangal dosha alone. A page selling a remedy has no reason to mention them, because a cancelled dosha has nothing to sell. Each page here gives them their own section.
Saturn is in one sign at a time, so exactly three of the twelve rashis are in Sade Sati at any moment — the one Saturn is in, the one behind and the one ahead. Today those are:
| Rashi | Since | Until | Phase now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aries (Mesh) | 30 March 2025 | 30 May 2032 | Rising |
| Aquarius (Kumbh) | 24 January 2020 | 23 February 2028 | Setting |
| Pisces (Meen) | 29 April 2022 | 17 April 2030 | Peak |
Every rashi has its own page with all the cycles, past and future. All twelve.
A named planetary position with a defined rule — Mars in one of six houses for Mangal dosha, all seven planets on one side of the Rahu–Ketu axis for Kaal Sarp, Saturn in the 12th, 1st or 2nd from the natal Moon for Sade Sati. Whether one is present in a chart is a yes-or-no question.
Yes, and it commonly is. The classical texts define conditions under which each does not apply — sixteen of them for Mangal dosha. A page that describes the dosha and not the cancellations is giving you half the rule.
Exactly three at any time, because Saturn occupies one sign: the rashi Saturn is in, the one before it and the one after. As of 9 September 2026 they are Aries (Mesh), Aquarius (Kumbh), Pisces (Meen).
Whether one is in yours is a question with a yes-or-no answer, and the chart is free to cast. What it means for you is the conversation.
