Kharmas Monday, 15 March to Tuesday, 13 April: the Sun in Meen until Mesh Sankranti; it closes a wedding and a mundan through Wednesday, 14 April: the Sun changes rashi after that day’s sunrise, so the day still counts as Kharmas; the panchang still gives dates for a janeu, griha pravesh, buying property, a new vehicle or a new business, though many North Indian families wait until it ends.
Holashtak Tuesday, 16 March to Sunday, 21 March: the eight tithis from Phalgun Shukla Ashtami to Purnima, the night of Holika Dahan, which this year fit in 6 days; it closes a wedding, a mundan, a janeu, a naming (namkaran), a study start (Vidyarambha) and griha pravesh until Sunday, 21 March.
