Where Dhanishta pada 3 is

What this pada adds
its navamsa and its aimDhanishta in Brihat Jataka (16.12) Brihat Jataka says a person born with the Moon in Dhanishta is generous in giving, wealthy, brave and fond of music, though the same verse also calls such a person close with money. (Chapter 16 reads several nakshatras in each verse, one after another.) The text reads the nakshatra as a whole; the pada refines it through its navamsa, below.
Dhanishta gives the Moon its nature through Mangal; pada 3 sends it into a Libra navamsa, ruled by Shukra. The navamsa (D9) is the chart read for marriage and for the strength behind a placement, so in this pada Shukra colours what Dhanishta gives.
By natural friendship Shukra counts Mangal neutral, and Mangal counts Shukra neutral, so the navamsa neither helps nor hinders much.
The pada tradition reads each quarter by its navamsa’s element: an air navamsa makes this a Kama pada, turned towards desire, relationships and enjoyment.
