The third quarter of Magha: a Gemini navamsa, naam akshar Mu, and a birth that starts in Ketu’s mahadasha with 3.5 years to 1.8 years of it left.
Magha pada 3 is the third 3°20′ of Magha, 6°40′ Leo – 10°00′ Leo, in Leo. A Moon here is named by the syllable Mu and falls in a Gemini navamsa.
Gand Mool nakshatra. Magha is one of the six Gand Mool nakshatras; many families keep a Mool shanti for a birth in any of its padas, though the junction pada is read as the stronger.
Gand Mool are the six nakshatras on the seams where a water sign gives way to a fire sign: Ashwini, Magha and Mula, ruled by Ketu, and Ashlesha, Jyeshtha and Revati, ruled by Budh. The Mool shanti is traditionally done on the 27th day after birth, when the Moon returns to the birth nakshatra.
Magha in Brihat Jataka (16.6) Brihat Jataka says a person born with the Moon in Magha has many people working under them, worships the gods and honours the pitri (the ancestors), and takes on great undertakings. (Chapter 16 reads several nakshatras in each verse, one after another.) The text reads the nakshatra as a whole; the pada refines it through its navamsa, below.
Magha gives the Moon its nature through Ketu; pada 3 sends it into a Gemini navamsa, ruled by Budh. The navamsa (D9) is the chart read for marriage and for the strength behind a placement, so in this pada Budh colours what Magha gives.
By natural friendship Budh counts Ketu neutral, and Ketu counts Budh neutral, so the navamsa neither helps nor hinders much.
The pada tradition reads each quarter by its navamsa’s element: an air navamsa makes this a Kama pada, turned towards desire, relationships and enjoyment.

A Moon in Magha starts life in the mahadasha of Ketu, 7 years in all. How much is left at birth depends on how far the Moon had gone: at the start of pada 3 it is 3.5 years, at its end 1.8 years.

23 June 1985, 17:00, Mumbai: the Moon at 8.59° Leo, in Magha pada 3, with Scorpio rising. The engine gives 2 years, 5 months, 27 days of Ketu’s mahadasha left at birth.

Mu (मू). A child born with the Moon in this pada is traditionally given a name beginning with it.
Rashi Leo, navamsa Gemini. It runs 6°40′ Leo to 10°00′ Leo.
Ketu, with 3.5 years to 1.8 years of its 7 years left at birth, depending on the Moon’s exact degree.
Magha is a Gand Mool nakshatra, though this is not its junction pada. The six, and when the shanti is done, are explained above.
It needs a birth time, because the Moon crosses a nakshatra in about a day. The free kundli gives you the nakshatra, the pada and the dasha that follows from it.
