What the 11th house rules and what Parashara says of it, how to read it in your own kundli with a worked example, each graha in it, and where its lord sits.
BPHS reads the 11th house for possessions of every kind, the son's wife, income, prosperity, and livestock. BPHS 11.12
When it is strong: If the lord of the 11th is in the 11th itself, or in a kendra (the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house) or trikona (the 5th or 9th) from the lagna, BPHS gives many gains; an exalted 11th lord brings them even when combust. The 11th lord in the 2nd, with the 2nd lord in a kendra with Guru (Jupiter), makes the gains great, and an exchange of the 2nd and 11th lords brings abundant fortune after marriage. BPHS 22.2–3, 22.9
When it is afflicted: If the lord of the 11th is debilitated or combust, or sits with a malefic in the 6th, 8th or 12th, BPHS warns that gains do not come despite many efforts. BPHS 22.11
These are the text’s readings under its conditions, as the old texts write them for a man; they apply to anyone. A real kundli is read as a whole.
Each help counts one point for the house and each weight one against. Two or more on balance for it reads strong; any balance against it, weak; anything between, mixed.
