Shani is in Meen (Pisces)
Dhaiyya (from dhai, two and a half), or small panoti, is Shani in the 4th (Kantaka Shani, “the thorn”) or the 8th (Ashtama Shani, “the eighth”) from your Moon rashi. Each lasts about two and a half years, and up to 3 years 8 months when Shani turns back (vakri) across a sign’s edge; in the south, Kantaka Shani is called Ardhashtama Shani. Running now: Singh (Ashtama Shani, until 23 February 2028); Dhanu (Kantaka Shani, until 23 February 2028). Both pause from 3 June 2027 until 19 October 2027, while Shani is in Mesh; for those months the dhaiyya is Makar’s and Kanya’s instead.
For each rashi, the Kantaka and the Ashtama dhaiyya: the one running now, or else the next. Each rashi page has every window.

Two transits, each with its own reading, as Phaladeepika, Mantreswara’s classical Jyotish text, gives them.
The 4th from the Moon is read for home, mother, vehicles, property and peace of mind; from there Shani’s drishti (its gaze) reaches the 6th, 10th and 1st.
Phaladeepika reads transits from the natal Chandra (Moon) and counts Shani (Saturn) as giving good results only in the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses from it; the 4th is not among them. For Shani's transit through the 4th house from the Moon, the text warns of loss touching the spouse, relatives and wealth. Phaladeepika 26.2, 26.22
The 8th from the Moon is read for health, sudden events, hidden matters and in-laws; from there Shani’s drishti (its gaze) reaches the 10th, 2nd and 5th.
For Shani in the 8th from the Moon, the text warns of losses touching children, friends, livestock and wealth, and of illness; verse 26.33 places the 8th, with the 12th and the 1st, among the houses where Shani's transit carries a warning of danger to life, a fall from position and loss of wealth. These are the text's cautions, not a forecast for anyone. Phaladeepika 26.22, 26.33
Shani takes about two and a half years in each sign and about twenty-nine and a half to go round. From your Moon it reaches the 4th (Kantaka), then the 8th (Ashtama) about ten years later, and the 12th, where Sade Sati begins, about ten years after that. Sade Sati ends as it leaves the 2nd; Shani then crosses the 3rd, and about two and a half years later reaches the 4th again.
The wrong rashi. Dhaiyya is counted from the Moon sign, not the Sun sign most people know. Find your Moon sign.
Sidereal, not tropical. These dates use the sidereal zodiac, measured against the fixed stars as Indian astrology does, with the Lahiri ayanamsa (the correction from the Western, season-based zodiac), the Government of India standard.
Two possible start and end dates. When Shani dips into a sign for a few days and leaves, or turns back into a sign it has left, some sites start the dhaiyya at the second entry or end it at the first exit. These pages use first entry to final exit, and say when a first visit is only days long.
The upay (remedies) families have kept through dhaiyya for generations. Free, and each with its reason.
Shani mantra · 108 times on Saturdays
ॐ शं शनैश्चराय नमः
Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah
Shani’s short mantra, built on its seed syllable “Sham”. Saying it every week without fail is itself the discipline Shani asks for.
Neelam (blue sapphire) is not a general dhaiyya remedy. It suits some charts and harms others, so wear it only after your own kundli has been checked.
Your own kundli decides how it goes.

Take the site’s sample kundli: born 15 July 1990, 2:30 PM, in Mumbai. The Moon is in Meen, so its next dhaiyya is Kantaka Shani, Shani in Mithun, from 31 May 2032 to 13 July 2034, the same dates as for every Meen Moon. Four things make it this chart’s own.
Another Meen Moon shares these dates and almost none of the rest. That is why the dates are the same for everyone of a rashi, and what they bring is not.
Two rashis are in a dhaiyya at a time: the one whose 4th Shani is in, and the one whose 8th. When Shani spends a few months in the next sign and comes back, the dhaiyya moves to the next two rashis for those months and then returns.

Shani’s transit of the 4th or the 8th house from your Moon rashi, about two and a half years each: Kantaka Shani and Ashtama Shani. It is also called small panoti, beside Sade Sati, the big one.
Shani is in Meen; Singh is in Ashtama Shani until 23 February 2028; Dhanu is in Kantaka Shani until 23 February 2028.
About two and a half years, the time Shani spends in one sign. When Shani leaves the sign and comes back before moving on for good, a window can stretch to about 3 years 8 months from first entry to final exit.
Usually not. Tradition counts Sade Sati, seven and a half years of Shani in the 12th, 1st and 2nd from your Moon, the longer and weightier; a dhaiyya is shorter and touches fewer areas, though in the south Ashtama Shani is held to be nearly as heavy. Both are read against your own chart.
What a dhaiyya brings is read from your whole chart: your lagna, your dasha and where Shani sits.
