Moon mahadasha in the cycle
10 of 120 years. It follows the Sun (6 years) and comes before Mars (7 years). You are born into it if the Moon was in Rohini, Hasta or Shravana, the three nakshatras the Moon rules.

The nine antardashas
Each runs for 10 × its own lord’s years ÷ 120. The longest is Moon–Venus, the shortest Moon–Sun; together they make up the 10 years.
A dasha year here is 365.25 days, the common modern convention; a panchang using a 360-day year will give slightly different dates, in the same ratio. Each length is rounded to the day.

Chandra (Moon) antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives vehicles and clothes, devotion to the deities and one's guru, the singing of hymns in praise of God, a rise to authority or a position of command, great happiness and enjoyment, and name and fame.
Hard: BPHS warns of loss of wealth and position, lethargy, anguish, friction with government and senior officials, distress to the mother, risk of imprisonment, and loss of relatives.
Caution: BPHS counts this a maraka period (one the texts link with danger to life) when Chandra rules your 2nd or 7th house, or is joined with the lord of the 8th or 12th.
Remedy: For relief, BPHS prescribes giving a tawny cow or a she-buffalo in charity.
BPHS 53.1–6Mangal (Mars) antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives rising fortune, recognition from government, gains of clothes and ornaments, success in every effort, better harvests and prosperity at home, and profit in business.
Hard: BPHS warns of bodily distress, losses at home and in farming, losses in business dealings, friction with employees and with those in power, separation from relatives, and a hot temper.

BPHS 53.7–12Rahu antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives success in all ventures, and gains of vehicles, clothes and the like from those in power, coming from the south-west.
Hard: BPHS gives some good results at first, then warns of danger from those in power, from thieves and from snakes, distress to livestock, loss of relatives and friends, loss of reputation, and mental anguish.
Caution: When Rahu sits in your 2nd or 7th house (the maraka houses, which the texts link with danger to life), BPHS warns of bodily trouble and asks for care with health.
Remedy: For relief, BPHS prescribes Rahu japa and giving a goat in charity.
BPHS 53.13–21Guru (Jupiter) antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives a rise to authority or a position of command, happy celebrations at home, gains of clothes and ornaments, recognition from those in power, the grace of one's Ishta Devata (chosen deity), gains of wealth, land and vehicles, and success in all ventures through the kindness of those in power.
Hard: BPHS warns of harm to one's guru (teacher) and father and to children, of loss of position, mental anguish and quarrels, and of loss of house, vehicles and farmland.
Caution: BPHS counts this a maraka period (one the texts link with danger to life) when Guru rules your 2nd or 7th house.
Remedy: For relief, BPHS prescribes reciting the Shiva Sahasranama and giving gold in charity.
BPHS 53.22–31Shani (Saturn) antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives the birth of a son, friendships, gains of wealth and property, profit in business with the help of working people, better harvests, gains through a son, and riches and standing through the kindness of those in power.
Hard: BPHS reads this as a mixed time: it warns of trouble stirred up by many people and of distress from enemies, while the same placement also brings visits to holy places and bathing in sacred rivers.
Caution: When Shani sits in your 2nd or 7th house (the maraka houses, which the texts link with danger to life), or in the 8th, BPHS warns of bodily distress and asks for care with health.
Remedy: For relief, BPHS prescribes the Mahamrityunjaya japa and giving a black cow or a she-buffalo in charity.
BPHS 53.32–38Budh (Mercury) antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives gains of wealth, recognition from those in power, gains of clothes, discussion of the shastras, knowledge gained in the company of learned and holy people, enjoyment, the birth of children, contentment, profit in business, and gains of vehicles and ornaments.
Hard: BPHS warns of bodily pain, losses in farming, risk of imprisonment, and distress to spouse and children.
Caution: When Budh rules your 2nd or 7th house (the maraka houses, which the texts link with danger to life), BPHS warns of fever and asks for care with health.
Remedy: For relief, BPHS prescribes reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama and giving a goat in charity.
BPHS 53.39–46Ketu antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives gains of wealth, enjoyment, happiness for spouse and children, and a religious bent.
Hard: BPHS warns of obstacles in ventures through the interference of enemies, and of quarrels.
Caution: When Ketu sits in your 2nd or 7th house (the maraka houses, which the texts link with danger to life), BPHS warns of illness affecting the body and asks for care with health.
Remedy: For relief from all these troubles, and for gains of wealth and property through the grace of Lord Shiva, BPHS prescribes the Mahamrityunjaya japa.
BPHS 53.47–52Shukra (Venus) antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives a rise to authority or a position of command, gains of clothes, ornaments, livestock and vehicles, happiness for spouse and children, a new house, sweets every day, perfumes, the pleasures of romance, and sound health.
Hard: BPHS warns of loss touching landed property, children, spouse and livestock, and of opposition from government.
Caution: BPHS counts this a maraka period (one the texts link with danger to life) when Shukra rules your 2nd or 7th house.
Remedy: For relief, BPHS prescribes Rudra japa and giving a white cow and silver in charity.
BPHS 53.53–64Surya (Sun) antardasha
Goes well: BPHS gives the return of a lost position and of lost wealth, happiness in the family, gains of property and land with the help of friends and those in power, the birth of a son, and the grace of Goddess Lakshmi.
Hard: BPHS warns of danger from government, thieves and snakes, bouts of fever, and troubles on journeys abroad.
Caution: When Surya rules your 2nd or 7th house (the maraka houses, which the texts link with danger to life), BPHS warns of fever in this antardasha and asks for care with health.
Remedy: For relief, BPHS prescribes the worship of Lord Shiva.

- When Chandra (Moon) is exalted or in her own rashi, in a kendra (the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house) or in the 11th, 9th or 5th, is joined with or aspected by benefics, is fully strong, and is joined with the lord of the 10th, 9th or 4th, BPHS gives, from the start of the dasha to its end, prosperity and standing, good fortune, gain of wealth, auspicious functions at home, a rise in fortune, a high position in government, vehicles, clothes, the birth of children and the gain of cattle.BPHS 47.16–22
