Parashara reads Chandra’s own antardasha by where Chandra sits from the lagna and by what it rules; your kundli shows which line is yours, and though the text speaks of a man, its results apply to anyone.
When it goes well
- When Chandra is exalted (in her sign of greatest strength), in her own sign, or in a kendra (the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house) or a trikona (the 1st, 5th or 9th house), or is joined with the lord of the 9th or the 10th house, BPHS gives vehicles and clothes, devotion to the deities and one's guru, the singing of hymns in praise of God, a rise to authority or a position of command, great happiness and enjoyment, and name and fame.BPHS 53.1–2½
When it is hard
- When Chandra is debilitated (in her sign of weakness), or is joined by malefic grahas (the harsh planets), or is in the 6th, 8th or 12th house (the dusthanas, houses of difficulty), BPHS warns of loss of wealth and position, lethargy, anguish, friction with government and senior officials, distress to the mother, risk of imprisonment, and loss of relatives.BPHS 53.3–6

For relief, BPHS prescribes giving a tawny cow or a she-buffalo in charity.

Chandra is favourable for Kark (Cancer), Vrishchik (Scorpio), Meen (Pisces) lagna. Chandra is hard for Vrishabh (Taurus), Mithun (Gemini), Singh (Leo), Kanya (Virgo), Makar (Capricorn), Kumbh (Aquarius) lagna, where the period asks for the most care. For Mesh (Aries), Tula (Libra), Dhanu (Sagittarius) lagna Chandra is neutral, and where it sits decides the period.
