Mantra, daan, vrat, ratna, rudraksha and the Lal Kitab upay for Chandra in each bhava, each with the reason it is given.
These are suggestions, not prescriptions. The tradition turns to them when Chandra is weak or troubled in a kundli, or when its dasha or a hard transit is running. Your kundli says which applies to you.
The graha’s seed sound. Chanted with a steady count, it is the oldest way to strengthen what Chandra stands for: the mind, emotions and the mother. Begin on Monday and keep the same time and count each day until the full count is done.
ॐ श्रां श्रीं श्रौं सः चन्द्राय नमः
Om Shraam Shreem Shraum Sah Chandraya Namah
A short mantra of Chandra’s own name, for those who would rather pray than count. The deity worshipped for Chandra is Lord Shiva.
ॐ सोमाय नमः
Om Somaya Namah · 108 times
Give what belongs to Chandra, on its day, to someone who needs it. Lal Kitab and the Parashari tradition both count it the gentlest upay.
A fast on Monday, kept for Shiva or Parvati, steadies the mind and eases Chandra’s troubles.
A ratna strengthens Chandra, so it helps only when Chandra is good for your lagna, that is, when it rules houses that work well for that lagna. Wear it only after the kundli is checked: for some lagnas the same stone does harm.
A rudraksha carries none of a ratna’s risk; it is worn to keep Chandra calm and steady. A bead’s deity goes with its mukhi (the number of lines), so it can differ from the deity worshipped for Chandra above.
Lal Kitab gives a different upay for each bhava, because Chandra does different things from each. Use the one for the house it occupies in your kundli. A pakka ghar is the house Lal Kitab treats as a graha’s permanent home.
