Parashara reads Ketu’s antardasha in Surya’s mahadasha by where Ketu sits, counted from the lagna and from Surya, and by what it rules; your kundli shows which line is yours, and though the text speaks of a man, its results apply to anyone.
When it goes well
- When Ketu is in the 3rd, 6th, 10th or 11th house, BPHS gives happiness from spouse and children, contentment, more friends, gains of clothes, and renown.BPHS 52.62–64
When it is hard
- When Ketu sits anywhere (the verse names no condition; this is the general result of Ketu's antardasha in Surya's mahadasha), BPHS warns of bodily pain, mental anguish, loss of wealth, danger from those in power, and quarrels with relatives.BPHS 52.58–59
- When Ketu is in the 8th or 12th from Surya, the lord of the mahadasha, BPHS warns of trouble in the teeth or cheeks, urinary trouble, loss of position, loss of friends and wealth, travel abroad and trouble from enemies; the text also warns of danger to the father.BPHS 52.60–61
Parashara’s remedy
For relief, BPHS prescribes reciting the mantras of Goddess Durga (the Shat Chandi path) and giving a goat in charity.
