Parashara reads Rahu’s own antardasha by where Rahu sits from the lagna and by what it rules; your kundli shows which line is yours, and though the text speaks of a man, its results apply to anyone.
When it goes well
- When Rahu is in Kark (Cancer), Vrishchik (Scorpio), Kanya (Virgo) or Dhanu (Sagittarius) and sits in the 3rd, 6th, 10th or 11th house; or Rahu is in his sign of exaltation together with a yogakaraka (a graha that rules both a kendra and a trikona, and so gives strong results), BPHS gives a rise to authority or a position of command, fresh enthusiasm and good relations with government and those in power. It also gives happiness from spouse and children, and growth in property.BPHS 55.1–4
When it is hard
- When Rahu is in the 8th or 12th house, or is joined by malefics (the naturally harsh grahas), BPHS warns of danger from thieves, trouble from wounds and friction with government officials. It also warns of the ruin of kinsmen and of distress to spouse and children.BPHS 55.5–6
Parashara’s remedy
For relief from these troubles, BPHS prescribes worshipping Rahu by reciting his mantras, and giving in charity the things that belong to Rahu.
BPHS 55.7A caution: When Rahu sits in the 2nd or 7th house or is joined with the lords of those houses, BPHS warns of distress and illness in this sub-period. The 2nd and 7th are the maraka houses, which the texts link with danger to life. BPHS 55.7
