Parashara reads Chandra’s antardasha in Shukra’s mahadasha by where Chandra sits, counted from the lagna and from Shukra, and by what it rules; your kundli shows which line is yours, and though the text speaks of a man, its results apply to anyone.
When it goes well
- When Chandra (Moon) is in her exaltation or own sign, or is joined with the lord of the 9th house, the lord of the 10th house or benefic grahas, or is in a kendra (the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house), a trikona (the 1st, 5th or 9th house) or the 11th house, BPHS gives gains of wealth, vehicles and clothes through the favour of those in power, happiness in the family, great prosperity and standing, and devotion to the deities and Brahmins. It also gives the company of musicians and learned people, honours, gains of cows, buffaloes and other livestock, unusual profits in business, and meals shared with brothers.BPHS 60.21–23½
- When Chandra (Moon) is in a kendra (the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th), a trikona (the 1st, 5th or 9th), or the 3rd or 11th, counted from Shukra (Venus), the mahadasha lord, BPHS gives charge over a region or locality through the favour of those in power, gains of clothes, the building of a water tank or similar public work, and growth in wealth. Health is good at the start of the antardasha; for its last part the text warns of physical distress.BPHS 60.27–29

- When Chandra (Moon) is in her debilitation sign (neecha rashi, where a graha is weakest), is combust (too close to the Sun to show her strength), or is in the 6th, 8th or 12th house, or in the 6th, 8th or 12th counted from Shukra (Venus), the mahadasha lord, BPHS warns of loss of wealth, fears, physical distress, anguish, the displeasure of those in power, journeys to foreign lands or pilgrimage, distress to the spouse and children, and separation from relatives.BPHS 60.24–26½
